    ATHENS Minnesota Wild Throwback Jersey , July 11 (Xinhua) -- Greek Coast Guard retrieved on Friday the dead bodies of two migrants off the coast of Samos island in the Aegean Sea after the sinking of a boat carrying undocumented immigrants from Turkey, according to local media.

    Coast Guard officers have confirmed that a man and a woman lost their lives, while 13 persons -- 12 men and one woman -- were rescued.

    The Coast Guard was alerted for the emergency by a yacht which was sailing in the area and it has not been clarified whether there were more people on board the boat which was not found.

    Survivors gave conflicting reports on the total number of passengers with some claiming that they were approximately 30 people on board when the boat left Turkey's coasts.

    Two helicopters and five speedboats are taking part in the rescue operation.

    On May 5 this year two dozen migrants, among them several children, drowned off the coast of Samos in a similar tragedy.

    COLOMBO, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's opposition staged a protest on Friday in the capital of Colombo, demanding the removal of the country's central bank governor.

    The protest by the "joint opposition" saw several opposition legislators, including Namal Rajapaksa, the son of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, wearing black shirts and black head bands during the street protest.

    The protesters confronted the police who attempted to prevent the opposition from getting close to the central bank.

    Barricades placed by the police were pushed down by the protesters, which led to two opposition legislators sustaining injuries.

    Parliamentarian and former minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena and parliamentarian Shriyani Wijewickrama who sustained injuries were admitted to hospital.

    The protest was staged by the joint opposition against Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran.

    The government said on Friday that Mahendran had decided not to seek an extension of his term in office until his name was cleared of allegations against him.

    A parliamentary committee was making inquiries into the allegations that Mahendran helped a company owned by his son-in-law.
